Neurofeedback has allowed me to truly engage in my life in real time. I am no longer living in a fog of crippling anxiety, anticipating how I may be perceived and overanalyzing every interaction. I am no longer stuck in fight or flight, or being pummeled by waves of depression. Now, I actively engage in all aspects of my life. I observe my emotional reactions and allow myself to feel things, fully knowing I will be okay. Neurofeedback has made me feel secure existing in the world as my authentic self.

I have found the overwhelmingly positive outcome of Neurofeedback to be unexpected. I’d thought it would help me to manage my anxiety and to help me feel more calm. It has done so much more than I ever anticipated. It’s entirely shifted my relationship to myself in only positive and empowering ways. It’s allowed me to make progress I never realized was possible by calming down my physiological alarms so I could physically and emotionally process what I’d worked through in psychotherapy.

My experience working with Dr. Neff has been life-changing. I have felt supported and rooted for through every step. She is always honest with me. She has created an environment and working relationship where I feel safe venturing into difficult and emotional territory because I know she has my back and will help me get out of my own way when necessary.

I would recommend Neurofeedback to anyone struggling with anxiety, obsessive thoughts, depression, or PTSD. Although, I don’t know a single person that wouldn’t benefit from Neurofeedback. I tell anyone that will listen to me about this how it has changed my life.

Remote neurofeedback has been incredibly helpful for my family. A major benefit of neurofeedback is that it customized to your brain. It’s programmed specifically for you. It is not a one size fits all approach. Each member of my family saw different results depending on what was being targeted. Overall, we each had a reduction in anxiety. We all felt more calm and focused. This was a major help for bedtime and sleep issues. I also noticed an increase in my autistic son’s processing speed. This has helped him engage with his family more and increased his ability to focus. The biggest benefit I experienced from neurofeedback was a feeling that a fog had been lifted from my brain. I was able to process emotions better and dig deeper into my own personal growth.

I loved that we were able to do neurofeedback from our home. We were ale to fit it into our schedule when it would be the most beneficial. This offers a feeling of safety and ease for my kids. I love that neurofeedback is non-invasive and has no harmful side effects.

I really enjoy working with Dr. Neff. She is very knowledgable and willing to troubleshoot any issues and answer any questions. She is very kind and understanding and makes you feel like you are meeting with a friend.

My wife remarks often about how ‘different’ I seem since receiving neurofeedback. I still experience the waves of fear and panic that I felt back before - but they are smaller, less threatening, and more manageable. Which is not to say that the big panics don’t occur, only that they occur much less frequently. When they do, I am able to detach from them and, in a sense, observe them from outside the emotion itself. What I find so fascinating is that the neurofeedback ameliorated so much of the dread and uncontrollable hypervigilance that I felt day to day.

When dread, anxiety, or panic do arise, I am able to now retain my own identity, my own sense of self, and my self-determination. Before, I would lose myself in them and become trapped in the thought and feeling patterns they imposed on me, falling into a downward spiral of hopelessness and self-loathing. Now, I don’t shrink down to feeling like a helpless child who is powerless. This leads me to harness a power that I never knew I had - to not step into that spiral and to retain my selfhood and to view the events of my emotional world, and my mental world, not as inflexible, immovable, and indomitable facets below which I am subordinate, but as elements of that human condition over which I have agency and empowerment. Now, I can step back from them and view them as part of my own personal language, the grammar of my history which I am now free to alter or command.

It is not perfect, but what is far more essential, is that it is real. And that is in no small measure due to your efforts and your guidance.

My personal experience with Melissa Neff and her staff has been exceptional. First entrusting the care of my daughter to them and then myself has brought us life-changing results. While receiving Neurofeedback under Dr. Neff, we have both received nothing short of positive, life changing results. Melissa and Lisa both made us feel valued. I know they personally and professionally care about my daughter and my journey, not just individually, but also as a family unit. We have always been treated with an open, caring mind and a soft touch. Through their care and time, I realized I was worth giving myself this added gift of healing. There is no I would feel more comfortable with as I venture through this journey of mental health self care.
